Sometimes binge watching a TV show or a movie can get a bit out of hand. Although we can get off track with how much we watch, we all go through phases of wanting to watch something all day long. Have you been struggling on what TV show or movie to watch recently? Do you want to know what movies or shows are trending? Well, I have the perfect show for you that will keep you locked in. That show is Gossip Girl. 

Gossip Girl was made in 2007 through 2012, but clearly it never got old, even now in 2025. Gossip Girl is a drama series based on rich teenagers, who act like adults, who attend a rich private school in the Upper East Side of New York City. The show is narrated by an anonymous blogger, known as ‘Gossip Girl,’ who leaks the latest gossip and secrets about the characters. Each character finds love, goes through family problems, and are in and out of friendships, all worrying about how they look in their social world. Throughout the show, the group of characters mature, or even become worse, but it is so worth the watch!

Having a hard time trying to find a show to binge can be the worst. When you want to watch a show, you want to relax and sit in a comfy spot, and have the show keep you on your toes almost the majority of the time. Gossip Girl will most definitely keep you on your toes with the plot twists and cliff hangers it leaves for you. Gossip Girl has some very admired and popular actors as well. Blake Lively plays one of the main characters, Serena van der Woodsen, and she is carried throughout the show for all of the 6 seasons. Blake is a great actor and she also acts in some popular movies like The Age of Adeline and a new trending movie called It Ends with Us. Another loved actor is Penn Badgley, who plays another one of the main characters, Dan Humphrey. Penn Badgley also plays in a popular Netflix show called You as the main character, Joe Goldberg. Serena van der Woodsen and Dan Humphrey have a history throughout the show. They represent the differences in social classes and prove how two completely different people can connect, but also how people can change and hide secrets, even from their family.

Let’s talk about two special characters, Chuck Bass and Blair Waldorf. Chuck and Blair demonstrate the different stages of a relationship like manipulation, loyalty, trust, and conflict. Despite all the times they never spoke, or the challenges they faced together or against each other, they always go back to each other with deep affection and determination to be together. Their complicated relationship will prove that waiting is worth it and to never give up on something you love. Chuck Bass and Blair Waldorf will keep you in a loophole throughout the series but it is worth staying until the end. If I continue on Chuck and Blair’s relationship, I will end up spoiling the rest of the show, so let me end with talking about the drama of Gossip Girl

Between scandals, fraud, and betrayal, Gossip Girl is definitely NOT drama free. Whether it is siblings, romantic relationships, con artists, or even family, there is always something happening to keep the story moving along. Although these characters go through lots of betrayal, they always find a way to be forgiving, even if it happens multiple times. As these characters grow up, they begin to mature, some may leave, but these characters grew up to realize that New York City is the place where they belong. I would not worry about becoming bored when you are watching Gossip Girl because it is a great show to binge.
