In my opinion, deportation is one of the most inhumane acts our government has implemented. We, the American people, are ripping people from their homes, families, jobs and lives just because they are seeking a better life here. These ¨aliens¨ who are just like me and you, are deemed unfit, violent, and are marginalized as criminals. Under our president, Donald Trump, his administration have deported almost 10 thousand illegal immigrants back to their countries. Trump and his followers claim that these people are criminals and nothing more, but in reality, these leaders are just racists who are finally getting to show who they really are. Deportation is inhumane, unjust, and morally wrong.

Deportation is not just getting on a flight and going back home; it’s invading your home, your workplace, and your schools and essentially kidnapping you. You are stripped of your livelihood and torn down to just flesh and blood. There are videos surfacing online of immigrants being shackled, thrown around, and beaten.

A lot of the undocumented immigrants in the United States have been here for decades, and have built their lives on the soil and contributed to the country. Many immigrants will take low paying jobs, because that’s the only work they can find. People will complain that immigrants are taking their jobs, but at the end of the day, these jobs that benefit our economy, that benefit the American citizens, we claim are being stolen from us, when half the people claiming that can’t even do the hard labor jobs are being “stolen.”

I want to talk about God for a second. About the fact that people will claim that God is our father and we are all brothers and sisters and that we are equal. That no matter your skin color or gender,  we are all one in the same. So why when it comes down to it are we treating these people like they’re less? Why do they get mistreated just because of the color of their skin? What language they speak? Where they come from? Why do they get the short end of the stick when they’re working harder than “legal” American citizens? God’s word is valid until it comes down to racism. Racism is what fuels these people and what fuels Trump and his hateful heart.

The way racism has been so normalized is incredibly sad. His whole campaign and immigration tactics are built on racism. He claims that Mexicans are just rapists and criminals and that’s why we don’t need these dirty people here. We don’t take accountability for the things that non-immigrants do every day, but as soon as an immigrant does it, everyone goes insane. No one should do it regardless, but for some reason people don’t seem to bat an eye when it’s a white person.

Trump also has travel bans targeting Muslim countries and all these mass deportations show a clear bias against immigrants of color. ICE has terrorized communities with force, brutality, and unjust reason. This is all without due process. He’s even trying to take away birthright citizenship, which is unconstitutional. Everything he does and everything he says is unconstitutional. I don’t understand how people can’t see that we have a racist, rapist running our country and deciding who gets to be here or not.

The way Trump approached immigration makes it seem like we need to exterminate all these people and do it quickly. This was not constitutional and it wasn’t about law and order. It was about racism and how many people are biased and believe that America is a white man’s country. Deportation is violating human rights and strips individuals of any type of dignity they have left. These people are treated like animals just because they wanted to seek refuge and seek a better life. Why should they be deemed as criminals just because they wanted to live in America and not in a country full of poverty and crime, which most of the time is where they come from. Why is wanting a good life suddenly a crime? There is no due process. There is no legal system helping any of these immigrants. There is no support for any of these people having their lives taken away from them.

We are a diverse country. We are all deserving of good lives and futures. It hurts my heart to know that some people are just so full of hatred in this world that they believe deportation, and Trump, is this country’s destiny. We are a sick country full of racist idiots. I don’t think God would be very happy to know that this is the way his children are acting.
